Terms and Conditions

By creating an account, checking the acceptance box at sign-up, or otherwise using Prody, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Prody is an online marketplace and technology platform that connects clients (“People”) with independent professionals (“Experts”) for paid one-to-one video sessions and group events, and facilitates payments between them.

Prody is an intermediary and payment facilitator; it is not a party to the service agreement between a Person and an Expert. Experts are independent contractors and are not employees, partners or agents of Prody. Prody does not provide the professional services offered by Experts and does not guarantee any particular result, availability or quality beyond the identity verification we perform.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You agree to provide accurate information, verify your email, keep your credentials secure, and remain responsible for all activity under your account.

You may hold a single account. We may refuse, suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or unlawful.

As an Expert you are an independent professional. You are solely responsible for your content, the services you deliver, your licenses, and your taxes.

To be listed, you must complete identity verification. You set your own prices and grant Prody a license to display and promote your profile and offerings. Prody does not guarantee any number of bookings or level of income.

Experts set their own prices. When you book a session you enter into a service agreement with the Expert, and you authorize Prody to charge the applicable amount through our payment processor (Stripe).

Prody charges a platform commission — currently twenty percent (20%) — on each transaction. A booking is confirmed only after payment is completed. Prices are shown before you pay; you are responsible for any taxes applicable to you.

Net earnings (the price less Prody’s commission) are credited to the Expert’s in-platform wallet once the payment is confirmed. Experts may request a withdrawal to a configured payout method; withdrawals are processed by Prody.

Experts are responsible for providing accurate payout details and for reporting and paying their own taxes on their earnings.

Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: a client may cancel a one-to-one session for a full refund at least 24 hours before it starts, and may reschedule up to 24 hours before at no extra cost. Refunds for problems are reviewed by our support team, and group events follow the refund policy set by each host.

Experts may purchase an optional PRO subscription (currently US$29 per month) that increases their visibility in search and displays a PRO badge. The subscription renews automatically each period until cancelled.

You can cancel at any time; your PRO benefits remain active until the end of the period you already paid, and subscription payments are not pro-rated or refunded for the remaining period.

Experts may host paid group events. The host sets the event’s refund policy, which is shown before purchase. If a host cancels an event, confirmed tickets are refunded.

You agree not to use Prody for any unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purpose; not to harass, abuse or impersonate others; not to post infringing or illegal content; and not to interfere with the security or integrity of the platform.

In particular, you agree not to circumvent the platform to avoid fees or to take transactions off-platform, not to scrape or use automated tools to abuse the service, and not to misuse other users’ personal data.

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant Prody a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, display and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the service.

You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights to share it. We may remove content that violates these Terms or the law.

Video sessions and messaging take place through the platform. You agree to behave lawfully and professionally. Group events may be recorded only when the host enables recording, and recordings are made available according to the visibility the host selects.

The platform relies on third-party providers (for payments, video, email, notifications and more). Your use of those features may be subject to the providers’ own terms. Prody is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.

Prody, its name, logos and software are owned by Prody or its licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the platform for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

The platform and the content provided by Experts are offered “as is” and “as available”. Beyond identity verification, Prody does not independently verify the accuracy, quality or suitability of the advice or services Experts provide.

Prody does not itself provide legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. You rely on Experts’ guidance at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Prody will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of Experts or clients. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amounts you paid to Prody in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer-protection law.

You agree to indemnify and hold Prody harmless from claims, damages and expenses arising out of your use of the platform, your content, or your breach of these Terms or of the law.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where required by law. You may close your account at any time from your Account settings. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as payment obligations, disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version and update the “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of Prody after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you where you reside. Certain payments may be processed through a United States-based entity acting as payment facilitator.

Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts, without prejudice to your statutory consumer rights.

Prody verifies each expert’s identity and at least one professional credential before granting the “Verified Expert” badge. Certifications shown on an expert’s profile are provided by the expert and displayed as submitted, for you to evaluate; except for the credential backing the badge, Prody does not independently guarantee their authenticity. The badge reflects the checks described here and is not a professional endorsement or a guarantee of results.
